Is this for you?

Find out how I work.

Welcome to Plas Morgan (House of Morgan in Welsh). My name is Morgan! This page tells you whether I'm the right person for you. In most cases, I'm probably not.Q1. How many clients do you have?
Not many, and that is exactly what I want!

Q2. What do you offer?
Not language lessons: intelligent, discussion-based meetings run by a language expert who has taught, trained, examined and managed for thirty years, and who would rather build a conversation than deliver a lesson.

Q3. Do you teach beginners?
If your current level is lower than B2, or below IELTS 6 overall with 5.5 in speaking, then I'm not the right person for you. What you need is structured teaching, and a good language school will serve you far better than I can.

Q4. Do you plan and teach grammar in every session?
If this is what you are looking for, then a school is what you want, not me. With me, there is no syllabus, no coursebook, and no material that wasn't chosen with you in mind.

Q5. Do you work on exam preparation?
I've examined and trained examiners for thirty years, and I don't sell exam courses. If you need a score, go to a centre that does that properly.

Q6. What do you actually do, then?
I meet people whose English is already strong and who want it sharper. Everything we do comes from you: your stated interests and the ones that emerge as we talk. I bring stimulating materials such as videos, songs, articles and the like; we build the conversation around them; I help you notice the vocabulary worth keeping and the phrasing worth changing. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is left for another course to cover. The work is in the process. It is deliberately slow, expensive, and not for everyone.

Q7. Expensive? How much does it cost?
More than most people would think. I don't publish prices because it all depends on what you need and expect. We can talk about it when we meet.

Q8. How do I start?
By introduction. If we haven't been introduced, this page is as far as it goes.
